Summary of Responsibilities

The position acceptance of all design documentation, ensuring its comprehensiveness and adherence to regulations, codes, and license requirements. The position will interact with different departments of URENCO to ensure all system testing and as-built documentation is complete for turnover on behalf of the Owner. The process will ensure that the acceptance of structures, systems, and components meet all design documentation requirements.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline

  • Years of experience: 0+ years of engineering experience in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Job Details

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.

  • Work Schedule: 9/80 work schedule. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.

  • Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required.

  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. Plant/Production with low light, confined spaces, near moving parts, radiation, risk of electrical shock, chemicals, vibration, outdoor with extreme cold, heat, wet or humid conditions.

Primary Functions

  • Functions in the interests of the Design Authority while supporting construction activities and projects. This includes maintaining/ensuring design standards and design criteria, the UUSA Functional Specification, and processes for design and configuration control.

  • Apply basic level engineering fundamentals and ensure design basis documents are kept current, controlled and configuration management is maintained.

  • Ensure design outputs are adequately reviewed and approved in accordance with procedures, regulations, codes, and license requirements.

  • Understanding of technical drawings and manuals for procedure use and continuing training.

  • Coordinate between design engineering and implementation of activities to ensure its comprehensiveness.

  • Assist in the review of technical documents, test results and the Owner’s Turnover Package ensuring that they are ready for records.

  • Track progress and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance of construction activities.

  • Understand the implementation processes to ensure system turnover in a timely manner.

  • Provide accurate and timely data for management assessment of turnover performance.

  • Interface with Projects to ensure open communications between the installation of new modifications and/or construction and the Owner’s end result.

  • Coordinate with Project team in the identification and resolution of issues identified in constructability walkdowns.

  • Review site testing efforts to ensure it follows Urenco processes and standard codes of records.

  • Understand the basic system design capabilities and operation of the UUSA uranium enrichment process equipment and plant utility systems.

  • Consistently exhibit UUSA Core Values and Foundational Behaviors.

Compensation starting at: $ 88575 - $ 146169 / year and up dependent on candidate.
