Summary of Responsibilities
Monitors, controls, and operates uranium enrichment equipment and other production related equipment at Urenco USA to produce enriched uranium while protecting the health and safety of the public and plant employees and preventing damage to plant equipment and structures.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One to five years of related work experience in a technical, chemical, or operations work environment.
- Required to perform job duties at the UUSA site in Eunice, NM
- Rotating Shift: 12-hour shift, 4 days on, 5 days off
- Days/Nights/ weekends/ and some holidays
- Travel may be required less than 10% of the time
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L security clearance.
- Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualification is required
- Potential environmental conditions include: general office environment, extreme cold or heat, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, plant/production environment, high, precarious places, low light, near moving mechanical parts, outdoors, radiation, risk of electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, and wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
- Achieve and maintain qualifications as an enrichment plant operator up to and including Control Room Operator qualification in accordance with the UUSA Operator training program.
- Perform the following under moderate supervision:
- Operate enrichment process and plant utility systems and equipment.
- Perform cylinder handling activities including connecting and disconnecting cylinders, sampling, and blending operations.
- Maintain awareness of plant conditions by conducting routine tours, rounds, and maintaining plant logs.
- Identify issues with equipment, processes, and procedures and ensure timely reporting to plant supervisors.
- Perform routine housekeeping and spill clean-up as needed.
- Perform plant Incipient Fire Brigade and Emergency Plan duties and responsibilities up to the level of Incident Commander; participate in training and drills related to both.
- Provide on the job training to operators in training for qualifications you hold.
- Understand system design capabilities and operation of the UUSA uranium enrichment process equipment and plant utility systems.
- Create/review new procedures and revisions to existing procedures.
- Consistently exhibit UUSA Core Values and Foundational Behaviors.

Compensation starting at: $72094 - 131094 / year and up dependent on candidate experience
