Summary of Responsibilities
This position manages multi-disciplined engineering personnel. The position develops and implements engineering programs, including criticality safety, radiological, and chemical safety engineering programs. The position is responsible for procedures and projects at URENCO USA (UUSA) in support of facility design, construction, and operation. The position uses managerial and engineering skills to lead reviews, conduct evaluations, perform analysis, problem solve, and make decisions. Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific field.
- 5+ years of responsible nuclear experience
- 2+ years performing design safety basis
- 2 years of management experience
Preferred
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific field and a Master’s degree in Nuclear or Chemical Engineering with a PE license.

- 7+ years of direct work experience
- 4+ years of management experience
- The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
- Work Schedule: 9/80 work schedule. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
- Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required.
- Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.

- Responsible for leading, directing and addressing all design safety basis activities for Urenco USA.
- Supervise personnel within the engineering organization, including prioritizing work activities, assigning tasks, reviewing and approving engineering work products; conducting performance appraisal, and addressing personnel issues.
- Manage work of engineering staff through planning, leading and monitoring to ensure that work is executed in an efficient and safe manner. This includes all aspects of work including condition reporting, evaluations, calculations, and walk downs.
- Prioritize and allocate resources to satisfy Engineering Department objectives, schedules, and manage emergent issues.
- Responsible for monitoring individual and group performance, communicating and enforcing expectations in support of Company goals, and providing coaching and feedback in a timely manner.
- Responsible for management approval of Engineering policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure design outputs are adequately reviewed and approved in accordance with regulations, codes, and license requirements.
- Propose and manage modifications or analytical solutions as needed.
- Establish and maintain relationships with other organizations to address operational needs, coordinate activities, and communicate information.
- Provides team leadership, training, coaching and mentoring.
- Creates and develops an effective and aligned team and sets challenging goals and expectations for staff.
- Ensures positive behaviors are exhibited by staff.
- Develops and manages the Design Safety Basis budget.
- As a collaborative member of the UUSA Site Leadership Team, supports site and corporate strategies and initiatives, models our cultural values, and drives accountability to meet our key results.
- In the absence of the Regulatory Affairs Manager may serve as Acting Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Compensation starting at: $145308 - $181635 / year and up dependent on candidate.
