Summary of Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of highly skilled Operators that monitor, control and operate uranium enrichment equipment and other production-related equipment at URENCO USA to produce enriched uranium while protecting the health and safety of the public and plant employees and preventing damage to plant equipment and structures.

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or technical field
  • Equivalent industry experience of at least seven years, may be substituted for educational Bachelor’s degree requirement
OR
  • U.S. Nuclear Navy Qualified Operator or Non-Licensed Nuclear Power Plant Operator, U.S. Nuclear Navy Qualified Watch Supervisor, NRC Licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator
Experience
  • Seven years of related work experience with at least three years of experience at a senior or supervisory level in a technical, chemical, or operations work environment
  • 10 CFR Part 50 or 10 CFR Part 70 facility experience is a must
Job Details
  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM. 
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required.  Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required : 20% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement : Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.

Primary Functions
  • Assures that UUSA is operating within established guidelines for company, state and federal environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure safe operation of enrichment equipment and support equipment.
  • Place priority on the formal training and development of subordinates and is able to provide feedback and coaching to challenge and stretch individual skills to meet the needs of the shift team.
  • Create and communicate comprehensible reports dealing with complex issues and problems, and use the findings to devise methods for improving processes.
  • Manage and prioritize every day actions as well as long term responsibilities while consistently producing excellent results.
  • Manage tasks and processes methodically and accurately verifying all work and correcting flaws and errors others may overlook.
  • Demonstrate mastery of required job-related knowledge, and mastery in the performance of essential job requirements, while applying them to the nuclear industries standards, practices and processes.
  • Understand and possess the manual dexterity to understand and safely operate complex mechanical devices and systems.

Compensation starting at: $121320 - $146169 / year and up dependent on candidate.
